The New Zealand Writer Files on the New Zealand Book Council web site includes author entries reprinted from the Oxford Companion to New Zealand Literature, (Ed. Roger Robinson and Nelson Wattie), augmented by adding pages for authors not currently featured in the Companion and by updating the Companion entries with details that have appeared since the Companion's cut-off date.

The summer 1997 issue of Manoa from the University of Hawai'i Press, featured New Writing from New Zealand. Guest editors Reina Whaitiri and Robert Sullivan have gathered prose and poetry by eighteen writers including Patricia Grace, Hone Tuwhare, Alan Duff, and Witi Ihimaera.
